Today on newsstands in NY and LA, the Vanity Fair issue with Star Wars covers is out. It’ll be out internationally on June 6, but thankfully to nice friends we’ve got scans from it to add to the gallery. I didn’t add the whole article but only the written part and few shots. You can find it fully on daisy-ridley.net.

Laura Dern is not afraid to catch some air.

The Big Little Lies actress, 50, broke down her favorite travel moments for Conde Nast Traveler, and among some stunning locations (Marlon Brando’s private island in French Polynesia) and spectacular treats (the “crazy little baby wild strawberries” at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in the South of France), one special time in Minnesota stands out.

“I shot the film Wilson with Woody Harrelson in Minnesota, and we spent a lot of time on Lake Minnetonka,” Dern tells CNT. “Woody’s the wildest athlete I’ve ever met.”

The costars stayed active on set with some low-key activities like tennis, and some far riskier ones: “We’re kite surfing! Tightrope walking!” Dern recalls of her foray into extreme sports.

Harrelson, 55, proved a good influence not only on her fitness routine, but, thanks to a little friendly peer pressure, on her sense of adventure. “I ended up being so active,” she says, “because he was always like,  “Come on, Dern!”

Dern next appears in the Twin Peaks reboot and Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Once again, Annie Leibovitz and Vanity Fair have visited a Star Wars set to bring a first look at brand-new characters and exotic new worlds.

In the exclusive photo portfolio above, see Annie Leibovitz’s photographs from the set of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the eighth film in the Star Wars saga coming to theaters December 15. The portfolio includes a first look at the characters played by Benicio Del Toro and Laura Dern, at returning favorites Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), Poe (Oscar Isaac), and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), and Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, reunited as brother and sister Luke and Leia for one of the last times before Fisher’s death in December.

The Twin Peaks revival is bringing a lot of names — both linked to the original and not — to its titular town. But the new name that’s perhaps bringing the most excitement is Laura Dern. While the reunion of Laura Dern and creator David Lynch’s creative talents is cause for celebration, it’s still not known what exactly the collaboration has produced. Lynch, Twin Peaks co-creator Mark Frost, and Dern herself have all been very secretive about who Laura Dern plays in Twin Peaks.

Dern, fresh of a major supporting role in Big Little Lies, is one of many celebrities taking on a role in Twin Peaks but is only one of a few who’s new to Twin Peaks and is also a former David Lynch collaborator. Dern has previously worked with Lynch on his films Blue Velvet, Wild At Heart, and Inland Empire, but this marks the first television collaboration between the two. With Lynch and Dern reuniting, chances are that whatever character the actress plays will have a very important role in the events of the revival. Dern could be playing a brand new role that takes Twin Peaks in a new direction, but it’s also possible that Dern could finally be putting a face to a familiar name.
